Shaqstar Spotlight Men’s Mental Health in Bold New Music Video “No Feelings”

Two months after the emotionally stirring track No Feelings by rising Dancehall act Shaqstar hit streaming platforms, producer Prod.LoudSpeakr has unveiled the official music video — a poignant visual companion aimed at highlighting the critical issue of men’s mental health.

Set against the backdrop of a culture often silent on male emotional struggles, the video serves as both a mirror and a megaphone. It tackles issues often buried beneath bravado and social expectations, with the hope of sparking deeper conversations around emotional wellness, particularly among Jamaican men.

“The ultimate hope is for this music video to be a catalyst for social change and to advocate for mental health support in Jamaica, and beyond,” shared the producer, who operates under the independent label Artary Return Records. Citing recent national tragedies — including a high-profile domestic murder-suicide involving a police officer — Prod.LoudSpeakr noted the urgent need to address stress and trauma, especially among those in high-pressure roles like law enforcement.

He also made a direct appeal to Police Commissioner Dr. Kevin Blake, urging a renewed focus on ethical conduct and mental health within the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). “Sometimes their job can lead to stressors. I want to use my platform to amplify this sentiment,” he said.

The label Artary Return Records— helmed by founder Chavelle Artary — was created with a mission of social advocacy through music. In this, Prod.LoudSpeakr has found a kindred creative spirit in Shaqstar, whose lyrical honesty and deep-rooted authenticity continue to resonate with listeners.

“The rhythm was produced and the artiste understood the assignment,” the producer said. “I’m not looking for fast food music. I’m looking for music that elevates the nuances in society and how we can address them. Shaqstar always understands that.”

The two first collaborated on the Bandulu Code Riddim — a project which, despite being temporarily pulled from streaming services, will be remastered and re-released as part of a forthcoming EP.

Shaqstar, who hails from St. Thomas and boasts over six years in the industry, has steadily built a name for himself by tackling real-life themes that reflect the pulse of everyday Jamaicans. With No Feelings, he continues his evolution — one that merges storytelling with societal impact.

Together, Prod.LoudSpeakr and Shaqstar are proving that Dancehall, in the right hands, can be a powerful tool for healing, reflection, and ultimately, transformation.
