Fete Republic Takes Night Carnival's 'Purple Reign' to Miami for Carnival Weekend

Miami Carnival weekend is about to get another dose of Caribbean energy as Jamaica's Fete Republic brings its Night Carnival experience to South Florida on Friday, October 9, with a staging of Purple Reign that promises music, masquerade and the unmistakable excitement of Carnival after dark.
Set for 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in Opa-locka, Miami, Night Carnival Miami will bring together soca, dancehall, Carnival costumes and purple Monday wear for a celebration built around the music and freedom that have become synonymous with the Night Carnival brand.
The event arrives during one of the most anticipated periods on Miami's Caribbean entertainment calendar, when Carnival enthusiasts, masqueraders and partygoers gather in South Florida for a weekend of music, culture and festivities.
For Fete Republic, the Miami staging provides another opportunity to take its distinctive interpretation of Carnival beyond Jamaica, connecting with Caribbean audiences and diaspora communities through an experience that celebrates both the music and the people who make Carnival culture so vibrant.
Purple Reign is the theme, and patrons are being encouraged to embrace it through purple Monday wear and Carnival costumes. From elaborate masquerade-inspired looks to playful interpretations of Monday wear, the dress code is designed to make the crowd as much a part of the spectacle as the entertainment.
Music will drive the experience, with an extensive line-up of entertainers and selectors assembled for the Miami staging.
Freeze International, Tony X, DJ Sinistar, DJ Shotta Dredd and Bloodline Franco are among the featured names, bringing a combination of Caribbean sounds and high-energy DJ entertainment to the celebration.

Also joining the line-up are Marc Chin and Cyclone from Coppershot, Barrie Hype and Brush 1, The Road Marshal, adding even more personality and musical variety to the night.
The entertainment package reflects Night Carnival's emphasis on continuous musical energy, with DJs and entertainers working together to create an atmosphere where the crowd remains fully engaged from the opening selections through to the final moments.
Unlike a traditional concert, Night Carnival places the experience itself at the centre of the entertainment. Music, movement, fashion and audience participation combine to create the feeling of a Carnival celebration that extends beyond the conventional road march.
The Miami staging follows Night Carnival's September 5 presentation of Purple Reign along Kingston's Ocean Boulevard, where the brand brought Carnival culture to the Jamaican capital's waterfront. “The response to Purple Reign in Kingston was phenomenal. From the energy on Ocean Boulevard to the music, the costumes and the way patrons embraced the experience, it reminded us exactly why Night Carnival has become such a special part of our entertainment calendar,” said Dr. Mikhail ‘IQ’ De Gale, Managing Director and Director of Marketing at Republic Enterprises Ltd.

“We are taking that same energy to Miami for Carnival weekend. Miami has an incredible Caribbean community, and we want patrons to experience the excitement, freedom and atmosphere that made Kingston so memorable. Purple Reign is about bringing people together through music and Carnival culture, and we are looking forward to seeing Miami put its own flavour on the experience,” he continued. The event’s arrival in South Florida places the concept in another major Caribbean entertainment market, with Miami Carnival weekend providing a fitting backdrop for the purple-themed celebration.
The event also comes one week ahead of Appleton Estate Republic Weekend 2026, Fete Republic's four-day, five-event entertainment experience scheduled for October 16 to 19 at Plantation Cove in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Night Carnival: Sugar Waist is among the experiences featured during that weekend.
For now, the spotlight turns to Miami, where Night Carnival is preparing to bring its Purple Reign theme to a crowd ready for Carnival music, colourful costumes and an unforgettable Friday night. Night Carnival Miami: Purple Reign takes place on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., at 13449 NW 42nd Avenue, Opa-locka, Florida 33054. Tickets are available through www.feterepublicjamaica.com and Eventbrite.
