Keznamdi released his long-awaited sophomore album Blxxd & Fyah, solidifying his status as one of the genre’s boldest voices. The 12-track collection burns with a mix of social commentary, cultural pride, and spiritual upliftment, boasting heavyweight collaborations with Kelissa, Mavado, and Masicka. From the introspective opener “I Am” featuring Kelissa, to the ganja anthem “Bun Di Ganja” alongside Mavado, and the gratitude-driven “Forever Grateful” with Masicka—already paired with a striking official video—Keznamdi delivers a project that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
The release comes five years after his acclaimed debut Bloodline (2020), celebrated for its authenticity and genre-fusing approach. With standout collaborations alongside Mortimer, Tory Lanez, and Chronixx, the album produced fan favorites like “Skyline Drive” and “City Lock.” Its success was both critical and commercial, topping Apple Music’s Global Albums chart in August 2020 and reaching No. 8 on iTunes Global Albums shortly after—a rare milestone for a reggae debut.
Adding fuel to the anticipation, Keznamdi set social media ablaze just days before the album’s drop with a fiery freestyle titled “Hollywxxd.” Originally meant as a casual teaser, the track went viral, earning praise from Dancehall heavyweights Bounty Killer, Mavado, and Stonebwoy, as well as endorsements from figures outside of music such as Olympian Ato Boldon, model Winnie Harlow, filmmaker Mykal Cushnie, and hip-hop titan Swizz Beatz. Reflecting on the unexpected buzz, Keznamdi shared, “We just release the song as a little thing for people to vibe to until the album drop. But mi surprise fi see how the masses gravitate to the fiyah weh we blaze—and for that we give thanks.”
