Recording artiste Jahazeil Myrie has teamed up with producer Prod.LoudSpeakr for the release of his latest single, My Neighbours, which was released on January 23.
The entertainer, who is the son of Grammy Award-winning reggae icon Buju Banton, described the project as a new chapter in his musical journey as he continues to evolve as an artiste.
“The inspiration behind My Neighbours came from wanting to break through in music and reflecting on the years I’ve spent in the industry. It’s about self-reflection and stepping outside the box of my career,” Jahazeil shared.
Speaking on his collaboration with Prod.LoudSpeakr—who has been steadily building a name among emerging and established artistes—Jahazeil said the working relationship was seamless.
Their connection began through TikTok during a live talent session hosted by producer IzyBeats, also known as Izy Are You Kidding Me, alongside Rygin King.
“My song didn’t get played, but I was on the live. From my experience working with LoudSpeakr, he’s very professional, quick, and serious about his craft,” Jahazeil said.
Jahazeil recorded his first song, No More, in 2015. Since then, his catalogue has grown to include tracks such as At My Door featuring Spragga Benz, Jah Me Seh, Hold On, and Who Am I. His more recent releases include So Bless featuring Destiny Yisrael, Mindset, and Obstacles.
For My Neighbours, the artiste said he completed his recording in under an hour, crediting the efficiency of working from his own home studio.
Jahazeil also acknowledged his father as a major source of inspiration.
“He inspires my music. The drive and passion he has—he never gives up, no matter the situation,” he said.
With a career marked by both challenges and growth, Jahazeil is now setting his sights on releasing future EPs and eventually headlining his own tour.
