Growing up in Guadeloupe, S.Rise was surrounded by a vibrant mix of sounds—Zouk, Gwo ka, Kompa, Reggae, Dancehall, and Hip-Hop. Music was everywhere: at home, in the streets, and in family gatherings. “It has always been a part of my life, my culture, and my identity,” he says. Yet it wasn’t until performing across London and Europe with Fr-English Connection that he realized music wasn’t just his passion, but his calling.

Why Reggae and Dancehall?

Even before he spoke English, the basslines, vocal tones, and energy of Reggae and Dancehall spoke directly to his spirit. “I understood that Reggae and Dancehall weren’t just about words, but about vibration, emotion, and spirit,” he explains. Living in the UK only deepened that connection, allowing him to channel his Caribbean roots while resonating with a wider global audience.

At a moment when doubt weighed heavy, the Maestria Workshop reignited his fire. The six-week journey across the Caribbean gave him clarity, discipline, and unforgettable experiences—including a dream-fulfilled performance in Jamaica and a powerful collaboration with the legendary Scared Dem Crew in Saint Martin. “That experience alone gave me so much confidence and clarity about my path,” he reflects.

Influenced by icons like Sizzla, Capleton, Buju Banton, and Beres Hammond, S.Rise sees music as a vehicle for upliftment. His dream collaboration? Bob Marley—a timeless voice of truth and unity. Whether with legends or emerging talents, he seeks to create timeless, powerful songs with purpose.

What's The Meaning Behind S.Rise

The name itself is an affirmation. The “S” stands for his birth name Sandro, as well as Strength and Spirituality, while “Rise” represents resilience and elevation. “Every time someone says S.Rise, it’s more than a name—it’s a reminder to rise above negativity and rise into love,” he says.

Like many independent artists, S.Rise has faced moments of doubt. But faith, friendship, and music’s unshakable purpose kept him pushing forward. “Sometimes, just when you feel like giving up, life sends you the opportunity to rise even higher,” he reflects on his toughest moments.
