Fete Republic's 'Purple Reign' is in effect as Night Carnival Takes Over the Kingston Waterfront Tonight

Kingston is getting another taste of the road today as Night Carnival Jamaica returns to Ocean Boulevard with Purple Reign, an overnight celebration built around music trucks, Monday wear, carnival costumes, soca, dancehall and the Rudeboy Road March.

Presented by Fete Republic, the event runs from 9:00 p.m. tonight until 4:00 a.m. tomorrow, bringing seven hours of carnival energy to the Kingston Waterfront.

Purple is the colour for the night, and patrons are being encouraged to show up in purple Monday wear, carnival costumes or their own interpretation of the theme. The setting gives carnival lovers another chance to dress for the road, gather their crews and enjoy the freedom of carnival months after Jamaica’s traditional April celebrations.

At the centre of the experience will be the Rudeboy Road March. Patrons will move through the streets behind the music trucks as the celebration spills across Ocean Boulevard, combining the atmosphere of a street festival with the intensity of a late-night party.

Patrons will get to move through the streets behind the music trucks, surrounded by costumes, purple Monday wear and the energy that makes carnival such a powerful experience. We want people to come out with their crews ready to dance, follow the trucks and enjoy a full night of soca, dancehall, colour and carnival on the Kingston Waterfront,” said Mikhail DeGale, Managing Director of Fete Republic.

Keeping the road moving will be Bloodline Franco, Kevi the Kinetic, Cyclone, March In, Carlos A-Team, Fyahman, DJ Lantern MD, DJ Mindless and Zess. The lineup brings together selectors and DJs capable of moving between soca and dancehall throughout the seven-hour experience.

Night Carnival Jamaica is also part of a wider journey for the Purple Reign theme. After Kingston, the event heads to Miami on Friday, October 9, before returning to Jamaica as one of five experiences presented during Republic Weekend in Ocho Rios from October 16 to 19.

General admission tickets are available for JMD $5,000, while drink-inclusive VIP tickets cost JMD $10,000. VIP admission includes select alcoholic beverages, a limited-edition Night Carnival tumbler, dedicated express entry, VIP parking and access to an exclusive VIP area.

Night Carnival Jamaica is open only to patrons 18 years and older.
