Recording artiste Samantha 'Trinni' Carter has officially been crowned the First Lady of JHouse Entertainment, marking a defining moment for both the rising talent and the emerging JHouse (Jamaican House) genre.
The label is spearheaded by Freddy Browne, an American artiste, producer, and DJ credited as the conceptualiser of the JHouse sound—a fusion poised to bridge dancehall culture with global electronic influences.
For Trinni, the title carries deeper meaning beyond recognition.
“It’s amazing. First Lady isn’t just a title, it’s a blueprint. I’m the proof of concept for what JHouse sees in female artistes, so every choice I make sets precedent. It feels like responsibility more than celebration,” she shared.
Stepping into the role, Trinni is focused on shaping a distinct creative identity within the genre—one rooted in authenticity while embracing global ambition.
“With JHouse, I’m looking to scale integrity: merge dancehall culture with this amazing new sound, keep the writing raw, keep the visuals intentional, but put my music on a global pipeline. The goal is cultural impact without creative dilution. If we do that, the numbers follow,” she explained.
Known for her versatility and disciplined approach to music, Trinni is intent on pushing artistic boundaries rather than conforming to them.
“Most artistes pick a lane. I’m interested in collapsing the distance between them. I obsess over arrangement, cadence, silence. The music is architectural before its content,” she said.
Browne revealed that his decision to work with Trinni was immediate, driven by both her talent and their creative chemistry.
“I’m a zen guy and I move on what I feel. I heard and saw her perform and I immediately thought, ‘OK I’m going to record with her.’ One thing led to another, and here we are making this collab album,” Browne shared, noting that it marks his first full collaborative project with a female artiste.
The partnership is already taking shape, with Trinni contributing to four tracks so far. One will feature on a project by fellow JHouse talent AcYn, while three others are slated for a joint album between Trinni and Browne.
Hailing from Lowe River in southern Trelawny, Trinni is also using her platform to offer guidance to aspiring artistes, stressing the importance of understanding the business side of the industry.
“Know what you’re unwilling to trade. Talent gets you noticed; boundaries keep you lasting. Learn the contracts before you learn the stage lights,” she advised.
Looking ahead, Trinni has a steady stream of releases lined up, including a single and a forthcoming EP or album expected next quarter. She describes the upcoming work as raw and deeply personal, built solely around her voice and Browne’s production.
Performance-wise, fans can expect to see her debut new material at Live At Big Yard, along with an appearance on Buss Song Sundays for a Mother’s Day special hosted by Pink Panta.
As JHouse continues to carve out its space in the global music landscape, Trinni’s role as its First Lady signals a bold new chapter—one driven by innovation, intention, and cultural pride.
