A Reminder That Faith Must Be Backed by Work

Ras-I and Kabaka Pyramid Link Up on “These Are the Days

Ras-I continues to carve out his space in modern reggae with the release of his latest single, These Are the Days, featuring Kabaka Pyramid. The track, released this week, is a simple but powerful truth: belief alone is not enough. Action, discipline, and consistency are required to turn prayer into progress.

Built around the refrain “prayers alone can’t do it,” the song speaks directly to artists, creatives, and everyday people navigating the long road toward purpose. It is not framed as a celebration of arrival, but as a recognition of the work that happens before the spotlight ever turns on.

For Ras-I, the timing of the release reflects a meaningful point in his journey. After years of steady growth, international performances, and critical recognition, he describes himself as being on the edge of something greater. “The conversations, the meetings, the acknowledgement leading up to now are things every artist prays for,” Ras-I shared. “But prayers without works won’t do it. We have to apply ourselves.”

The emotional foundation of These Are the Days is deeply personal. The opening line of the chorus comes from a phrase Ras-I and his mother would say to each other whenever he achieved a milestone on his musical goals list. That sentiment became the spark for the song, which then grew naturally through live recording sessions and collective creative energy.

Kabaka Pyramid’s presence on the track adds an important layer of perspective. Known for his thoughtful lyricism and steady rise, Kabaka brings the voice of an artist whose success was built through patience, discipline, and belief in the process.

“I feel like I am a different kind of success story than most,” Kabaka Pyramid explained. “I bring my unique journey, challenges, and experiences to the song. It is about putting in the work and not just relying on faith alone. Collaborations helped me on the journey, so I feel a duty to do the same for the younger generation.”

Ras-I has described Kabaka’s story as one that younger artistes can learn from, particularly in an era where quick visibility often overshadows long-term development. Their collaboration feels less like a feature and more like a shared statement about responsibility, growth, and legacy.

Produced by Koastal King’s Keniel Drumz, who also played drums on the song, the recording features Nnamdi Robinson on guitar, Oniel Keys on keyboard, and Joshua Jones on bass. The live instrumentation gives the track a warmth and authenticity that complements its message.

These Are the Days also acts as a bridge into Ras-I’s upcoming third studio album, Heart of Love. While the album explores love in its many forms, this single focuses on love for the craft itself and the drive that keeps artists pushing forward during challenging moments.
