The Area 5 police issued five summons in connection to the artist's behavior at the 2023 Unruly Fest held on December 22, 2023, in Yallas, St. Thomas. 1. Breach of the Noise Abatement Act

  2. Threat

  3. Using Abusive and Calumnious Language

  4. Using Indecent Language

  5. Disorderly Conduct

The announcement has sparked a divided response among fans. Many took to social media, including Twitter (referred to as "X" in the official statement), to express their opinions on the charges. Some fans argue that the charges against Popcaan are unreasonable, questioning the need for legal action against the artist. On the other hand, a contrasting perspective suggests that the law is the law and should be abided by, regardless of one's celebrity status.

These types of charges following stage shows, have generated significant attention and discussion within the music and entertainment community over the years. These charges highlight the ongoing tension between entertainers and the legal obligations that come with public performances, shedding light on the broader conversation about the responsibilities of artists in the public domain.
